*  By the 1830's, the Russells had bought out the Perkins syndicate,
    which was under the direct protection of the British Navy and
    British imperial finance, and made Connecticut the primary center

*  1833 - Graduated Yale. (Bk-43, 614)
*  1833 - Co-Founded Skull & Bones at Yale, along with
    Alfonso Taft. (Bk-43, 614) , (Bk-44, 5)
*  Founder of Collegiate and Commercial Inst., New Haven.
*  1846-47 - Member of Conn. State Legislature.
*  1862-70 - Gen. of Conn. National Guard.  (Bk-44, 8)
*  His secret organization spread in the 1870's to Phillips Academy,
