*Ascended the throne in 1268
*King Philip was a poor Merovingian Monarch without access to his
treasure.
According to the authors of
“Holy Blood”, “After the formal seperation in 1188, Sion
did infact continue to exercise some clandestine
control over Templar affairs. This might lead one to
believe
the Priory of Sion was behind king Philip.
Realizing that the Templars were so wealthy and powerful
that no Pope would dare attack them, King
Philip devised a plan to put his own Pope on the throne,
which meant eliminating the existing one.
(bk-2,69)
*Between 1303 and 1305, Philip, along with his ministers, engineered
the kidnapping and death of Pope
Boniface VIII and quite possibly poisoned Pope Benedict
XI.
*In 1305 the Archbishop of Bordaux ascended the Papal throne, taking
the name Clement V. He was King
Philip’s candidate, one with Merovingian blood. Soon
afterwards,
they set out together to crush the
Templars.
*A list of charges were compiled, partly from the King’s spies
(possibly
Sion) who had infiltrated the
order, partly from the confession of an alleged renegade
Templar. Armed with this information, Philip
could now make his move. (bk-1,75)
The King issued sealed and secret orders,
which were to be oped everywhere simultaneously and
implemented at once.
*At dawn on Friday, Oct 13, 1307, all Templars in France were to be
seized and placed under arrest by the
Kings men, their preceptories placed under Royal
sequestration,
their goods confiscated. (bk-1,127)
The Templar wealth was not found however by
King Philip. Paris was the location of the Templar’s
central bank for all of Europe. If any large amount of
gold was to be had, it would have been from Paris.
From here it is questionable what happened to the gold.
